Nunnington Hall - The Carlisle Collection

I've been to visit The Carlisle Collection at Nunnington Hall today (you can read more about it by clicking the link). The miniature rooms have been moved, away from the glare of the windows which previously, made them nigh impossible to photograph through their glass cases. But now, finally, a few photos for those of you who haven't seen them already.

Enjoy

Have a fab weekend

Not to mention the exquisite furniture in every room! Thank you for sharing, Pepper! And what fun (for me!) that your comments are back! :)

  3. Oh that violin! And the Noah's ark! I'm in such throes of envy here... Now I need to make a list of places that have museums with dollhouses so I can visit them all.

And we get to talk to you again! Yay!

  15. Thanks Pepper for pointing me to your comments box - I am an eejit. Once I found it I realised that my brain and eyes are obviously no longer connected. Any way many thanks for the great photos. For anyone thinking of going (like me) check the opening times and days before you do - especially this late in the year. The amount of times I have turned up at NT houses to discover the house isn't open that day/month etc. So grateful for such a wonderful collection.

    1. Ha, I did exactly that! We planned to go on the Monday, checked the website to make sure it was open and found it is closed every Monday. So happy I wasn't there at the front door before I realised =0D

  27. This is really wonderful! I am in the process of building the stacked stone fireplace in my modern dollhouse and I took a break to see what you have been up to. These little rooms are drool-worthy! I don't have the skills to emulate this quality of work, but nonetheless I am enjoying building my first dollhouse, finally, in the autumn of my life. I really enjoy your posts and greatly admire your work.
