Is it Summer yet?

It's cold today.
Really cold.
Nothing else to do but make miniatures that remind me of Springtime

It took me a surprisingly long time to find decent photographs of plants and vegetables to put on these seed packets. A lot of work for something so teeny but we wouldn't have it any other way, would we?

I've uploaded all of the files here if you want to print your own seed packets and plant food box. Feel free to share.

The other project I finished this week was something a little more complicated than my first effort on the vacuum former.

Can you guess what it is?

...a paint tray.
It took me a while to work out how to make the negative profile of the tray so the vacuum forming would produce a positive mold. The roller is just a piece of wooden dowel, painted white, with a handle shaped out of wire.

Have a wonderful weekend

  3. Oh dear, the weather forecast says that there will be snow here in The Netherlands just after this weekend, maybe earlier! No, it's not summer yet........but we do have bunches of cheerful snowdrops in our garden, so that's almost spring, huh ;)!?
Thank you so much for sharing the files for the seed packets, I think I can use them in the near future for a project :D!
The negative profile for the tray worked out very good. After I saw the picture of just the negative profile I thought it would become a sink, but I couldn't see its size, now I do :D! It really looks gorgeous, nice work.
Have a nice weekend :D! Hugs, Ilona

    1. Thank you Jennifer. All of the UK paint trays are the throw away, plastic type. Do you have the metal pan type that hang over ladders? I think I saw one on an American bloggers post =0)

    2. Not sure, Pepper. I've seen the metal ones, for sure, but not recently. I don't know what they sell these days. :-)

  11. Hi Pepper ,thank you for sharing the seed packet printers. Spring is on the way here near Vancouver BC. Lots of budding of plants . It was sunny and 10 c , my bees even emerged for a short flight.
I'm fascinated with your little forming tool. Went to a demonstration of a 3D printer a few days ago. I can imagine as the technology develops it may be a source for accessories of all types.
    Keep having fun.

    1. I love the idea that technology can help our hobby. There is a FabLab opening up soon, near to where I work with 3D printers, CNC machines and CO laser cutters. I'm so excited to see what sort of things they'll be capable of. Enjoy the Spring =0)

The seed packets are Perfect too.
The weather here on the southwest coast of Canada, proving to be one of the mildest winters that I can recall. I have a shrub ( Sweet Box ) that is already blooming and pouring out fragrance. It is not supposed to happen until Feb./March.... go figure?
However, I am NOT complaining :))
