Swapping, shopping and parcel spotting

I wonder if the curse of my missing mail will ever end. I received my swap parcel from Cyd at Mini Mod Pod this weekend. The parcel I sent her on the 12th of May is sitting in the customs office in New York. THIRTEEN DAYS. Thirteen days while I sweat it out, wondering if it will ever get there. Thirteen day worrying that they've man-handled the package and are currently trying to piece together broken bits of mahogany. What are they waiting for. ..a months quarantine for dangerous furniture? Sheesh.

So while I wait impatiently, I'll show you some of the fab things I received.

I really love this lamp. The natural stone is beautiful...just my taste

Turquoise is also a fave of mine =0)

There's just no way to take a picture of a mirror and not get your reflection O~o

This is a really cool design. I'm thinking this would go in the bathroom, your toiletries go on the shelf, and the mirror at the front slides left and right =0P I also got a ton of other things. Cyd was right on the money when I said I always needed little nik-naks to dress a scene. She picked some really wonderful items to send me. Thank you so much Cyd. Love 'em!

I also spoiled myself a little by buying some things (like I don't have enough miniatures)

I just loved this satchel from Mundomini It's really well made and speaks to my girly side =0)

And these by InTheTwelfthScale

So many tiny stitches. Well worth the money when you consider how well made it is and how long it must have taken.

Thoroughly spoiled I am!

Now get me the phone number for the darn customs office. I have a few choice words for them >-<

Have a fab weekend
Pepper =0)

  2. Looks like a great parcel of goodies! Loving all the colour too it's nice to be able to dress up a scene with little extras. The black and silver mirror reminds me of one I have in RL. Also what a great find those rugs were, they are very detailed. Can't wait to see them in a scene.
Now lets petition the postal service get your package out already!! :)

  3. Customs... Grrrrrrr..... Ooooh you hit a hot button of mine. I also wonder what in the heck they can be waiting for holding on to packages so long. What's the deal? Are they waiting for it to blow up? I have this vision of a storage area (the size of an American football field) with a bazillion boxes piled up to the ceiling. Then the vision of customs agents sitting around eating doughnuts and drinking coffee.

Congratulations on all your wonderful new miniatures! The satchel is just gorgeous. I love the flag rugs. The lamp is really cool as are all the other gifts. :-)

    1. Hi Catherine.
I appreciate that there must be millions of parcels coming into the US every day but seriously...a fortnight holding onto a parcel? Worse still is knowing that the items I spent a month on will have to be done again. =0(

  4. Wow you got some really nice stuff! Sorry about customs, things usually sit in Canada for weeks, not here...
Trying to click to follow your blog but at the moment google isn't letting me---

    1. Hi Linda.
Strangely, a parcel I sent Cyd earlier turned up in five days...go figure. Yeah, Google has been playing up for months now. Not to worry, thanks for dropping by to comment =0)

  5. I hope your parcel is on its way to Cyd soon - very frustrating and nerve wracking when the post doesn't get to where you want it to at a reasonable time. The items you received from Cyd are just fabulous. I love every one of them. I had never contemplated doing a modern house before until I saw some of Cyd's pieces and now I have a modern house on my 'to do one day' list. The satchel and mats are great too.

  6. What an incredible haul! Hopefully the parcel arrives soon...oddly enough, I live in Southern California (which is much, much further from England than most of the USA) and I've never had a parcel from England take a long time to arrive. Just a few weeks ago an item arrived in three days (and I definitely did not ask for expedited shipping)!

Parcels posted from pretty much anywhere else in the US, however, can take their sweet time arriving.

    1. Hi Anna, most of my parcels get to the US within a day, then maybe four days through USUPS to their destination. It's only happened when it's a swap parcel I'm sending and when I've paid for 'signed for' delivery. The sooner someone invests a teleporter, the better =0)

  7. Hi Pepper! I know your feelings of frustration only too well! Hopefully they will get to their destination soon.
You received some stunning stuff! The chair with the leg rest is a favourite! I really like the elephant too, it's unusual and I like the style.
    Kind regards, Brian.

But you have some stunning pieces! The lamp is wonderful, love it! And the colorful pillows are very nice, they remind me of Piet Mondrian! The Turquoise Bag is gorgeous...

  18. Oh where to start, I love everything but I think what I like the most is the Budda heads. (you know how difficult it is to find a good Budda Head in mini scale?) plus my mom had one in our livingroom when I was growing up and your Satchel is a score I'd like that in 1:1 scale :)

  20. The lamp is gorgeous, I saw one of those in life size years ago in a swish shop over here, wanted it, looked at the price tag, it was over a £1000 :D This is why the miniature hobby is so fantastic, you can have whatever you want with a smaller price tag, sometimes :D Love the elephant, and all the other nik naks :) x
